Where did you fly today

Second year to Oshkosh in my Viking Sonex and this year was noticeably larger than the year before.   My girlfriend Julie rode with me back to California from Oshkosh in the sonex and I loved the company.

Before the big show, we all got together at 7W18 in northern WI to visit our friend Jon Croke from “HomebuiltHelp” videos.

Jon has a grass runway that has thunder storms every night.   He has a house and hanger there.   Sounds perfect, but unfortunately the snow seems to hang around half of the year and the mosquitoes do have N numbers, pushing Jon southwards to Florida in the winter.

Arriving at Oshkosh, people barely let me park before asking me all about the Sonex and Viking.

After tying down the planes, we put up chairs flags and then ran a show.  After a week of chapped lips it was time for ice cream.

After the show was over we went to Crispy Cedars 7W18 again for the night.   Of course, being airplane nuts we couldn't just sit there and relax, we had to help John with the brand new Zenith CruZer.

Next day we left for Mount Rushmore to see the presidents but first a pit stop for more ice cream.  This turned out to be a big mistake because that ice cream didn't sit very well on the bumpy ride we were headed for.

Next stop Lodi – HOME

Dale Medendorp replied to Dale Medendorp's discussion Coupling hoses in cooling system
"Thanks for the replies. I bought some 1" I'd heater hose. The temperature rating of radiator hose is 257 and heater hose is 250. The rubber heater hose is an exact match (dimensional) to the Silicone hose."

"No, you can use regular good quality radiator hose. The silicone might last longer."

I need to replace one of the coupling hoses and can't find a local source. Is it necessary to use Silicone hoses or is rubber ok. Is silicone recommended because of the Evans coolant?Dale
