If you have one of the newer Viking 110 engines with an aluminum colored chain housing and a single aft top ear supporting the alternator, this additional braze will further support the alternator and prevent a possible crack in the aluminum ear.

Obtain yours at Jordan@vikingaircraftengines.com

Be sure to provide latest address for US postal delivery

Installation:

  • Add to forward side of top alternator mounting lug.  Add washers as required to make bracket flush with chain housing.
  • Drill 2 x 3/16 holes through chain housing aluminum
  • Install 2 x AN-3 bolts

  • How did anyone manage to drill these two holes. My rt angle attachment uses 1/4-28 threaded shank bits (Cobalt), but the hard aluminum frame material just eats the bits. Tried cutting oil, high and low speeds and have only managed to drill to a depth of 3.16" for ONE hole. Suggestions?
  • Hi Jan, my Viking 110 is running again, I very happy. the alternator bracket broke ear. could you post the measures this increase above?

Hi all,I'm very curious about the Viking engines for the RANS S-21. Anyone else building a S-21 considering a Viking? 130 vs Turbo? I've seen the S-20 with the 141 wing on Youtube and it seems you get good performance with the 130. I'm also consider…

Jan, I have added inspection and cleaning of the internal filter in the fuel pump to my annual list. Can you explain how the filter is accessed? Glenn Davis
