Thanks for the info on mounting to a stand. I thought there had to be some special fitting. As for hoisting, your method is exactly what I was thinking.
I just got my V-130!
Now 1st things 1st, since I don’t have an airplane to attach it to yet (working on horizontal stabilizer with fuselage next) I need to mount to a stand. Do you have any info on the best way to hoist and mount this engine to a stand?
Thank you Patrick, yes, I cant wait for that day too!
Wow, those are significant speeds in the Zodiak 601 xl ! The 130 brings that airplane to life I guess. I went ahead and purchased a 130 instead of the 110 I originally had my eye on. I also went for the 68” whirlwind. It’ll take me a couple years still to complete my airplane, then it will be fun to see how the HD does with a V-130. My guess is not a lot of gain in airspeed but it should have a nice short takeoff roll.
What propeller are you using with your 130?
Great to hear the good things about the Viking 130....
I was looking at the photo gallery of 601 HD’s on the Zodiak site, and there are several that apparently are using the lycoming O-235 engine, which weighs about 250 pounds!
Hey Patrick, your airplane looks like a beauty with the V-130!
Do you happen to know the total FWF weight with that engine, including fluids, spinner, propeller etc?
The 601 HD calls for no more than 265 pounds total FWF weight. How does the 130 weight compare?
I see you’ve installed a V-130 in your airplane. I would prefer to install a 110 in my 601 HD, but I don’t think Jan has anymore.
So I’m thinking 130. But I know its pretty heavy. Do you know of anyone installing that engine in the 601 HD?
