A 68" propeller is a good compromise. 70 will increase thrust slightly, 66" will decrease climb.
68" is also a little faster than a 70" due to the additional pitch. Your ground clearance is a personal choice, depending on where you will fly out of / in to.
There was a post on here about more speed with the shorter propeller.
I am building a Zenith 601XL. I was shipped a 70 inch Warp Drive Prop but I only have 6.5 inches of ground clearence. Would it be better to go with a 68 in which would give me 7.5 in or go with 66 in which would give me 8.5 in. Also could anybody tell me what kind of performance would I get with these props
prop ground clearance

From the home page of the forum, look for the Forum button at the top. Go down to "Wire the Viking" Once there, click on the + button in the upper right part of the screen. Here you can add the question about the battery placement.
Do the same regarding the "Coolant bottle". Go to the forum menu, then down to the closest category. Likely "Mount Your Engine" Then add your question there.
Try it, it is very easy to do. The reason I will remind everyone of this is so that we build a nice and organized archive for those that follow.
Can anyone building a zenith 601xl tell me where they installed there batt and the coolent bottle. Is anyone building a 601 that lives in North Al Southern Tenn or West Central Georgia. Thanks.
