ECU fuel pump relay wire?

I am having a time figuring out what the purple and white wire from the ECU/ engine look goes to. We currently have a dual pump setup but I cannot find this wire in any diagram?

  • Are you able to post photos of what your looking at? I believe the purple wire is for a fuel pressure sensor. Jan has or had a U-tube video discussing all ECU wires and sensors; probably located in the Installation section of web site. Are your two fuel pumps the type Viking provides built into the header tank?
    • Viking 130
It’s a purple and white wire labeled fuel pump relay
    • Do you have the Viking DVD for installing the 130? I believe that's where Jan discusses all the wires.
    • Yes I do but it does not mention it I’m assuming different edition.
    • Ours has a purple/yellow wire which goes between the engines fuel pump and ECU.

correction: ECU Fuel Pressure Regulator 2 wires: purple/yellow, white The ECU regulates the high pressure fuel using pulse modulation of an internal stainless steel bypass needle in the mechanical fuel pump.

    • I thought that was it as well but this is just one single wire purple with white stripe. I’m thinking it may just need power to it but hoping Jan might chime in after sun n fun.
    • I will try to get a picture of what I am talking about soon.
    • I have updated the post with a picture.
    • Anyone have any idea. My thinking is possibly needs power for the main pressure up on the engine, but obviously I want to be 100% correct, as this may not need connected at all with our system.

"Some have the belief that UL engines somehow are airplane engines and Viking engines are not.
It is interesting to see how UL is slowly learning. Since the first engine was delivered to the US and the dealer asked Viking for help and to borrow a set…"

"It is not used. Early wire looms had a fuel pump relay trigger wire so you could have the pump come on wen powering the ECU on"
